Baby Banou, LLC

The Problem: Baby Banou, an upscale specialty baby retail store in St. Paul, was 4 days away from the grand opening. Late on a summer Friday night, the owner was struggling with the QuickBooks Point of Sale that she had purchased directly from Dell. She should have been able to “dress” the store, display the merchandise, and get ready to introduce her unique product lines to the public. Instead, she was wrestling with software. The configuration was far from complete, and she was running out of time. She called Mary at Mobile-CFO on that Friday night and asked for a 9:30 AM meeting the following morning.

The Solution:   Mary came in the next day to look at the installation. She made some changes and did some training with the owner on the inner workings of the system. She configured the Intuit Merchant Account so that it worked seamlessly with QuickBooks financial and Point of Sale. That might have been enough to get the store off the ground, but this retailer wanted more. She had worked in the apparel industry for years, but this was her first store. She wanted not only to run a beautiful shop, but she wanted to understand her books and know what was happening on her general ledger. Mary spent time working through the financial interface with her so she could see how point of sale transactions flowed directly into her QB financial software. With the three systems installed and working together, the owner then turned to payroll. “How can I track the hours worked by each employee and then download that information into QB payroll?” Mary set up the Intuit Enhanced payroll module for her. Now each employee’s time downloads into the QB via the regular financial exchange. Now all she has to do is run payroll every two weeks. There is no need for her to track everyone’s time—QB Point of Sale does that for her. Together Mary and the owner are completing the financial set-up. Once the credit cards and bank accounts reconcile, this owner has the confidence that her books are right and she KNOWS what is going on.

Testimonial: “Mary was my life-saver. She showed me what needed to be done and empowered me to be able to run and UNDERSTAND my business. There is nothing more powerful than knowing what is happening in your books.” ___ Baby Banou LLC
