Girl Scouts Sell Cookies with Intuit's Go Payments Solution

Girl Scouts sell cookies with smartphones: You can pay for those Thin Mints with a credit card

PARMA, Ohio — The Girl Scouts were selling their cookies the old-fashioned way, pulling a creaky-wheeled red wagon laden with Thin Mints and Samoas down a suburban street. But the affair took a decidedly 21st-century twist when, with a polite smile, one of the girls pulled out a smartphone and inqui...

Try Naming Classes by Numbers

Usually in the world of QuickBooks, names rule. Like in the case of customer, vendor, and the chart of accounts typically we are looking at the name instead of the account number.

But in the case of class, what if we looked at a NUMBERING scheme instead of a naming scheme? This would help anyone who is responsible for data entry. If you look at a bill (or an invoice for that matter), most of the data entry would be done by using numbers. If the class setup were to use numbers instead of names, it would be much easier to do the data entry.

This idea came from Nita Wagner at Aranet, Inc. Thanks for the great tip!

QuickBooks Data Protect DOES NOT WORK!

I've been working with Intuit over over a month to try to activate my Data Protect service. I've tried to work within the product for over a month, and today I finally I got a pop-up message with an 800 number to call. Like a good Intuit user, I call the number and get a cranky account rep that swears that I needed to go to the original email to click on the correct link. So obediently, I find the original email and click the link...nothing happens. They transfer me to tech support, I'm told my tech support agent that there is a problem, that they don't know what is wrong and there is no date for a fix. Why was I not informed about the problem? There is not solution, so there is no reason to call you.

ITEM QUICK REPORTS ARE NOT WORKING IN QBES 11.0..... DO NOT UPGRADE UNTIL THEY GET IT FIXED

File this under best laid plans...Intuit was trying to extend the reporting of open order data to include backorder info. Great, but they forgot to see what it did to the Item Quick Reports (used when you go to List-->Item List-->choose a specific item--->right click and choose item quick report). The quantity subtotals are incorrect and will drive you crazy.
