I found this article very interesting. It is a story of how Beaulieu of America, tired of the large number of employee turnover, decides to "turn over a new leaf" and begin to treat their employees "like adults". Of specific interest is change the hiring practices in that a worker's committee now has hiring authority (not management). Employee turnover dropped 33%.

Greening the US Military

I found this article very interesting...The U.S. military is embracing alternative energy—but not because of climate change. Up to half of the yearly American casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan have been incurred guarding fuel convoys, and the Pentagon will no longer tolerate oil's "burden in blood."

A friend sent me this article today. It reminded me of the old saying, it is better to solve problems than to sell products. I purchased an Apple ipad2 this week, and I was very impressed at the customer service that I received at the Apple store.

What you do if you want to add a service or value to inventory that you have already purchased? Recently I was at one of my clients trying to solve their custom T-shirt problem. They purchase regular T-shirts from an outside vendor and then send them out to a custom screen printer. They wanted to capture the full cost of the T-shirt in Point of Sale so that the profit margins would be accurate.
