QODBC Version 10.0 Released

New Features in QODBC Version 10.0
Greatly Improved Performance

With QODBC Version 10.0 a new data importing technology has been added to QODBC resulting in faster initial data reads and subsequent queries than previous editions of the driver. Initial optimization of data has been benchmarked at up to a 30% reduction in load time.

If your QuickBooks company file is on the large side, this one feature will save you a lot of time!

Better Threading Design

Flexquarters has done quite a bit of improvements on QODBC. QODBC now has a single thread engine that allows multiple application threads to communicate with QuickBooks on a single thread. This which will help applications such as Microsoft SQL Server perform better and produce fewer errors.

Easier Operations

New in version 10.0 is a tray icon, which allows you to see that QODBC is performing operations and your machine is actively using QuickBooks. From this menu you can open tracing display windows, see what database and tables are being queried, see if QuickBooks is responding properly, and stop runaway queries.

Better SQL Support

QODBC version 10.0 adds new SQL Syntax our customers have been asking for such as UNION statements and CASE statements. Also added is support for QuickBooks SDK 9 and US Multi-Currency support.

If you are running a prior version of QODBC, I encourage you to download this version.

Quick version 10.0 is Junk!

We installed QuickBooks version 10 about 4 weeks ago. It was a major mistake! The program is so screwed up it that it trashed our complete accounting system! Fortunately we had a current back-up of version 9. Even with this it has taken more than 120 man hours to correct the mistakes and false information it input. It took us three days with Intuit before they even acknowledged they had a problem with the program! After 4 weeks they still have not corrected the problem plus they take no responsibility for all the lost time we have. We are currently looking at other software and will be dumping QuickBooks. I would not recommend their products to anyone do to their poor service and response. We have been a customer for over 15 years but we are finished with them now!!

I have not had your issues

I'm so sorry that QBES 10.0 didn't work with you system. About half of my clients have upgraded and I have not heard of a single problem. In fact I'm hearing reports of increased speed. I don't know why you had so many problems. When you said that it trashed your complete accounting system, wasn't QBES your whole accounting system? Perhaps you were running competing accounting databases and that is the root of the conflict.

I wish you well in your search for a new system. Your needs sound complex (in that QBES was not sufficient for your needs). I recommend that you look at a mid-market software such as MS Dynamics or Sage Accpac. They are designed to run on one large database and therefore may run smoother for you.
