Tayco Engineering

The Problem:

Tayco Engineering's accounting system was from another time. It was DOS-based and worked only in Windows 98. Something had to be done to update the system to the current day. The CFO, Sheri Nikolakopulos, had one major concern: how were they going to get their accounting data out of the old system? The data tables were locked down, and she could not see a way to get at their data.

 The Solution:

Mary has never liked to be foiled by a database. Sure enough, there was not a way to hack into them. Then she looked at the available reports. She noticed that it was possible to print a report to a text file. BINGO, the data just opened up to her. Now, with some manpulation, it was possible to obtain the company's open balances. Now that we knew that there was a way to convert the data, she went back and installed QuickBooks Enterprise on the network. She made sure that every client was installed correctly and that everyone understood how QBES worked. Form design was very important to Tayco, so Mary taught the form designer to Tacy. Within a few days, they had a form in QBES just like what their customers were used to seeing. The system conversion was completed within a few weeks. Tayco was very pleased with the extra functionality and the QBES ease of use. Now, every quarter or so, Sheri will call Mary with a few questions. She finds that it is easier to work with someone who understands her business and gives her quick and complete answers.

"Mobile-CFO took our old system out of the dark ages into the current day. QuickBooks is eas to use and is a great improvement over our old system. Mary continues to act as our "mobile problem solver" and has been a great help to me over the years."--Sheri Nikolakopulos, CFO Tayco Engineering, Inc.
