Manufacturing

Basic manufacturers are quite happy with QuickBooks Premier or Enterprise (notice I did not include Pro).  In QuickBooks it is possible to build assemblies, but there is not any ability to forecast from within QuickBooks.  This is why larger manufacturers will want to jump to a true production system.  The real question is whether the manufacturer is really a distributor with a few production steps, or a “multi-stage production” that requires attention to each detail. 

The best solution for true production is Misys SBM hands down.  It is easy to use and delivers huge value for the dollar.   If you are the distributor with a few production steps, there are more options for you.  The multiple warehouse solutions have some basic assembly modules that are probably worth looking at.  We would still recommend ruling out Misys SBM before choosing another system.
